Quick tips to manage your stress during exam period

25It’s your AIPMT exam on 4th May and with very little time remaining you might be going through feeling of stress and anxiety. That’s normal to some extent but it needs to be controlled otherwise it can seriously affect your performance on the day of exam. As you studied for the whole year we really don’t want you to appear for the exam with any stress and anxiety.

So, here are few quick tips to manage your stress during exam period:

Prepare as much as you can…

The best weapon to get success in the exam is your preparation. Trust me! If you have prepared well you will automatically feel confident and your stress will run away from you. Keep your readings up to date. Don’t let any doubt to stuck in your mind if you have any doubt just ask it to the experts… I mean your teachers. This will really help you.

Get enough Sleep…

Remember always that you need at least 7-8 hours sleep every night. If you are casual about your sleep I must tell you that lack of sleep may become a reason for your poor performance in the exam. So, Sleep Well! It will make you feel fresh and ultimately improve your performance.

Go for a small walk…

Studying for hours continuously in one position makes your body stiff; you may feel tired and start losing your concentration. So, plan your study in such a way that you get at least 15 min. for yourself after every hour and we will advise you to go for a small walk in those 15 min.

On the day of exam….

Be organized…

Keep all the necessary things like Pen, Pencil, Eraser, Watch and the most important Identity Card into your bag. Last-minute searching for things can stress your mind further and create panic during the exam which can be disastrous.

Avoid heavy food…

Eat energy producing food before going for exam and avoid carbohydrates like rice and potatoes which are heavy for stomach that makes you sleepy in the examination hall. Never go with an empty stomach, it’s a strict NO NO… as you can end up concentrating more on your hunger than your exam paper.

End up before 1 hour of exam…

Wind up all your study material before 1 hour of exam. Don’t try to feed your brain with more information. Instead of trying to revise that very last point you forgot to learn, try to revise those topics which you have studied for the whole year. If you try to learn new topics at the very last moment the chances are you’ll only remember what you learned just before the exam and panic with the other parts. So, just RELAX!!

Now the last and the most important tip…

Most of the time after the exam is over; we worry about the results and waste time discussing with our friend about the answers. Remember one thing, the time has gone and you cannot change your answers in any way. Regardless, you are losing your time and peace of mind trying to know what others did or spending energy on worrying which is already past. Once you submit your answer sheet to the examiner just FORGET about it!

We hope that the tips will work for you and you will rock the exam.

We wish you Good Luck for the exam! Be Confident!
